Ever felt like you needed a pick me up? And have you then gone and gotten a haircut and felt a little bit better?
That’s what the proponents of 10 Thomas Street, Noosaville are proposing.
RG Strategic have just submitted a Minor Change Application for the redevelopment of the roof and facade structure of the complex, which is now over 30 years old.
The proposed Minor Change to the existing approval seeks to remove part of the existing roof and replace it with a new contemporary designed roof. The proposal seeks to remove the outdated curved roof areas and replace them with a pitched roof to the ground floor and a fly-over roof that wraps around the central courtyard and into the road reserve. The roof to the upper level is not being replaced – only the curved portion over the entry, which is being replaced with a modern symmetrical architectural element.
While no changes are proposed to the uses or gross floor area, the new design creates a contemporary roof form that retains some of the old charm of the development. Sketchi Architects have designed a structure that brings the complex into the 21st century.

Plans for the new roof structure and facade show a focus on complementary signage and a lighter roof structure allowing for more light and circulation.

The new structures leave existing premises in place but provide a more contemporary experience for visitors.

Russell and team worked tirelessly to help get our business up and running. With all facets of licensing and council approvals their expertise and tenacity are invaluable. We couldn’t have set up without them. I would strongly recommend for any new project. Russell had our liquor license, food license, and plumbing approval organised extremely fast and smooth. Any obstacles that arose were navigated quickly and gave me confidence and peace of mind to move forward.

We would highly recommend RG Strategic. Russell and his highly professional team of town planners have done a huge amount of pro bono work for us here at Sunshine Butterflies Disability Support Charity, as we built our learning and recreational facility, 'Our Backyard' in the Noosa Countryside. The facility provides services for young adults living with a disability and their families, so everything has to be fully accessible and wheelchair-friendly and comply with disability building codes. RG Strategic helped us to navigate our way through the complex processes of Town Planning and our Development Application and made liaising with Noosa Council a breeze. We cannot thank them enough. Without RG Strategic we would would be still trying to overcome our challenges years later. The team at RG Strategic were fantastic to deal with, providing prompt & professional service. They demonstrated detailed knowledge of our situation and communicated clearly on what we needed to do. Using their local knowledge they formulated an approach that culminated in us gaining the approvals council initially indicated they would not support. We would highly recommend them to others.
