What Operators Need To Do To Stay Within The Rules
Noosa Council is working through community consultation, with a new Local Law that will provide a regulating framework governing short term accommodation offerings. This includes short-stay letting and home-hosted accommodation.
These rule changes will affect anyone operating a Short Term Accommodation (STA) operation including holiday letting, AirBnB, bed and breakfast, or similar operation.
To comply with the proposed short term accommodation requirements of the local law and the planning scheme changes, operators should ensure their particular operation is assessed against the Noosa Plan (2006 and 2020) and local law provisions. This assessment will identify what impacts the changes will have on their property and how they can mitigate those changes.
RG Strategic is currently offering free 30 minute consultations to identify and outline how these changes may impact your short term accommodation operation. You can call us on 07 5474 3873 or email us now to book this consultation.
With the new rules slated to come into effect early in the second half of the year, you must act now to ensure you comply fully with the new changes.

“Can’t thank Russell and the team enough for their help navigating the changes to the Noosa Plan and how they might impact our property. The service was always really prompt and a much better approach compared to trying to navigate the application process on our own. Thanks!”
Russell from RG Strategic did a fantastic job organising our Liquor Licensing for our space "Water Pistols Surfboards Studio". Very professional and prompt with responses to any questions we had. RG Strategic also does town planning and consulting. We highly recommend him. Ryan :-)

RG Strategic came to our rescue. After initially engaging another service to assist with our siting variation we received little to no information or support from them and had our application rejected by council. We were left feeling extremely frustrated and let down by the other service. A friend of ours recommended RG Strategic & we are honestly so fortunate that she did. From our first point of contact with Maree we found her extremely professional & knowledgeable leaving us feeling confident & assured. Maree explained everything and nothing was ever too hard. She went above & beyond to problem solve & produce a thorough & detailed siting variation application which shortly after submission was approved by council. We are extremely grateful for Maree, Russell & the team for providing such a professional & quality local service. Thankyou.

I've engaged Russell from RG Strategic to assist with Development Approval for 3 projects and it has helped me increase the speed of approval while delivering overall cost savings. Russell has vast experience navigating Town Planning in Noosa and whether you need help with a Development Application for a commercial or residential building through to the complexities of Food Standards Approvals he will be able to assist. His fee structure is transparent and predictable and his advice is always spot on.
