Sunshine Coast Council have just announced new incentives for new bars, theatres, nightclubs, or hotels in the Nambour Special Entertainment Precinct (SEP).
Development application and infrastructure fees halved
The announcement includes the halving of development application fees for bars, theatres, nightclubs, or hotels in the Nambour Special Entertainment Precinct (SEP).
Council have also halved the infrastructure charges for developments in the area.
This means that for a 200sqm nightclub, for instance, the savings could be in the vicinity of $38,400. Not chump change.
The Nambour SEP was created to give operators greater certainty about their operating conditions, especially music venues.
For the Nambour SEP, it means venues are exempt from the amplified music noise requirements of the Queensland Government’s liquor licensing laws.
The SEP includes two buffer zones to protect surrounding neighbours from sound spill.
Time and dollar limits apply
The incentives are in place until June 2025 but are limited to a maximum of $10 million.
Incentive approvals are also granted on a first-in, first-served basis, so if you have been eyeing an opportunity in the Nambour SEP, it’s time to make your move.

On behalf of the Tinbeerwah Hall Cttee I would highly recommend RG Strategic. Russell, Maree and the team are all highly professional and very knowledgeable in dealing with Council town planning processes. They provided a thorough and effective service managing the application for the hall, and I cannot thank them enough for obtaining the appropriate approval/permit from Noosa Council to install toilets etc in our community hall.

Working with Russell on our new project, Larder & Baked no doubt allowed our venture to have its approvals in on time and with minimal hassle. Russell is a wealth of knowledge, super easy to work with and most importantly supportive of all businesses. Big and small. we're already working with RG Strategic on a new licence for our business and look forward to having his skilled expertise on all of our future ventures.

We worked with Russell and the team for licensing of our food manufacturing premises. They were so great and easy to work with - nothing about the process was stressful and they guided us through each step of the way. We'd definitely recommend working with RG Strategic!

Russell and the team at RG Strategic were amazing throughout our whole Development Application with council. To be honest, I don't think we would have even made the move to our new premises with how daunting a Material Change of Use Application is. We are experts in human movement, not this stuff, so we are super grateful these guys made the process seamless and also speedy! Council told us a 3-5 month application process and these guys got it in right on the 3 month mark for us! Thanks for your patience and professionalism guys! We appreciate it more than words can say.
