RG Strategic welcomes Emma Ialeggio – Our newest town planner
Posted March 31, 2023
“I have always been interested in creating better urban environments and positively impacting people’s lives,” says Emma Ialeggio, RG Strategic’s newest student (soon-to-be graduate) town planner.
Emma’s passion for town planning was ignited during her travels. She saw first-hand how good or bad planning impacts local communities, like Europe’s amazing integrated transport infrastructure systems. It also showed her how vital it is that local and national governments ensure infrastructure and asset maintenance are addressed rather than letting them languish.
It led her to study for a Bachelor of Urban Design and Town Planning at the University of the Sunshine Coast, where she is currently finishing her last semester of studies.
Emma is excited about the challenge of designing neighbourhoods and public spaces that cater to the unique needs of each community.
“I love the idea of creating spaces that people can enjoy and feel connected to. It’s rewarding to see people using and enjoying spaces that I have helped create.”
From a broader perspective, Emma is enthusiastic about the potential of town planning to address global challenges such as climate change, social inequality, and urbanisation.
“By designing cities and towns sustainably and equitably, we can create a better future for all.”
This passion drives Emma’s pursuit of a respected and influential career in town planning.
“I want to make a positive impact on the way we design and manage urban environments and inspire others to pursue careers in this field.”
Emma joined RG Strategic to gain valuable experience and exposure to the diverse range of projects and clients with which the Sunshine Coast Town Planner firm works.
“I am most looking forward to collaborating with other professionals and learning from experienced mentors to gain professional growth and development opportunities.”
As a young professional in a constantly evolving field, Emma anticipates challenges such as keeping up with the latest trends and technologies, balancing the demands of multiple projects, and navigating complex planning regulations and procedures. “However, I am eager to tackle these challenges and grow as a planner.”
“Emma’s attention to detail during the interview process and understanding of the Sunshine Coast and Noosa planning framework impressed us,” owner and director Russell Green said.
“Her approach to planning and, in particular, urban design will be a great asset for our team as she further develops her planning skills.”
Emma Ialeggio’s passion for town planning is contagious. Her desire to make a positive impact on people’s lives through the creation of sustainable and equitable urban environments is genuinely inspiring.
As she begins her career journey with RG Strategic, we can’t wait to see what Emma achieves and the difference she will make in town planning.
We engaged RG Strategic to help us with our liquor licence and food licence for our new venue Flo's Creperie in Mooloolaba. Having worked with Russell, Maree and Tracey during the launch of our Noosa venue, we already knew they were a highly professional and knowledgeable team. This time, however, they really went above and beyond, performing a few miracles along the way to ensure we opened up on time. We couldn't be more grateful for their arduous work and commitment. I highly recommend RG Strategic to anyone who needs assistance with planning matters, and I look forward to working with them again in future!

A very pleasing experience working with Russell and his team at RG Strategic. We achieved just the outcome we desired for our application to Noosa Council. Russell and his team are a pleasure to work with, timely in their responsiveness, and authoritative and persuasive in the proposal they prepared on our behalf. We are happy to recommend RG Strategic.
RG Strategic came to our rescue. After initially engaging another service to assist with our siting variation we received little to no information or support from them and had our application rejected by council. We were left feeling extremely frustrated and let down by the other service. A friend of ours recommended RG Strategic & we are honestly so fortunate that she did. From our first point of contact with Maree we found her extremely professional & knowledgeable leaving us feeling confident & assured. Maree explained everything and nothing was ever too hard. She went above & beyond to problem solve & produce a thorough & detailed siting variation application which shortly after submission was approved by council. We are extremely grateful for Maree, Russell & the team for providing such a professional & quality local service. Thankyou.
In our business of building renovations and construction, we often turn to professional consultants to guide us through the ever-changing rules that apply to this complex industry. RG Strategic with Russell Green leading his team has helped us through many of our projects, including the construction of our new factory/studio complex and a myriad of renovation projects that we have undertaken, none of which could have been successful without the invaluable assistance of Russell. Speed is often critical when processing town planning applications, due to tight build schedules and clients’ expectations, and Russell continues to amaze me with the speed and efficiency in which he undertakes all his work, with a powerful and effective commitment to each and every project. RG Strategic and Russell are our secret weapons.
